I was up bright and early to organise myself for my very first lecture ever. Things were on track and all I had to do was drop the grandkids off at school and get to the lecture on time. It was, of course, Accounting, Learning & Online Communication. I was excited!
Naturally, there was no where to park. I drove around and parked near the Sports Complex as that is the only building I know. Then I started walking in the general direction to where we had orientation. I took the long way to building 29, however I got there just before 9am. I was all sweaty and a little panicked because I hate being late. There were some students standing outside the room looking lost, so I asked them if I was able to go in and they said yes and off I went.
I walked in and oh my gosh, so many people and Martin had started with organising his lecture. Talk about being self conscious! I wandered down to the front of the room and Martin suggested I sit closer to the middle and so I did. Then another lady came just after me and I didn’t feel so bad.
I ended up sitting in between Nathan and Susie. Susie was so much help and at one part I was using Nathan’s pen. They were very helpful because I was nervous but after a few minutes, I finally settled down to listen to Martin.
I was so pleased that I had read the introduction, chapter one, created my blog and joined the unit facebook page prior to the lecture as I had trouble with CQU’s wi-fi. It was distracting because I had to contact IT while Martin was speaking and I don’t like doing that because it is rude, but eventually I was online.
Everything was going well, we were answering questions, talking with Martin and photos were taken of us to put on the unit facebook page. Susie took the photo because my lap top was not behaving and wouldn’t connect to the wi-fi. Very frustrating. However, I managed to get through the lecture without having to use my lap top again.
Even though there were a couple of hiccups during my first ever lecture, it was an enjoyable experience and I am looking forward to next week.
PS: Hopefully my lap top will behave itself next week………lol!
Until then, enjoy!
Kellie
